Brand Creative Director (New Business)

Reference #7315

If you’ve been waiting for the kind of role where you can build a creative offering from the ground up — shaping the work, the team, and the growth story, this could be your moment.

YOU

Our client is looking for an exceptional Brand Creative Director to shape and lead a new creative offering across Australasia. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where creative vision, business growth, and team leadership all carry equal weight.

Based in Auckland, Sydney, or Melbourne, you’ll lead multidisciplinary brand work - partnering closely with executive leadership to establish a creative practice with ambitious growth plans across the region.

A major part of this role is new business.

The company is looking for someone with the reputation, network, and commercial drive to build a strong pipeline of new opportunities and grow long-term client partnerships across New Zealand and/or Australia. This isn’t a role where business development sits in the background — it’s central to the success of the position and the future growth of the practice.

You’ll be someone who enjoys being out in market, building relationships, opening doors, leading pitches, and creating opportunities through both existing networks and proactive business development. You’ll be confident leading senior client conversations, identifying growth opportunities, and helping shape the agency’s profile within the industry.

Creatively, you’ll bring a strong point of view and a portfolio of influential work across branding, experience design, environmental graphics, wayfinding, cultural storytelling, or an integrated mix of these disciplines. Just as importantly, you’ll know how to lead teams around a vision — creating an environment where people feel inspired, challenged, supported, and connected to the work.

This role requires a strong people leader. As the practice grows, you’ll play a key role in building and mentoring a high-performing creative team, helping define culture, ways of working, creative standards, and the overall direction of the offering. You’ll enjoy bringing people together around strong ideas and shared goals, while creating the structure and momentum needed to scale successfully.

We’re looking for someone who combines creative ambition with commercial instinct and leadership maturity. Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and delivering high-level brand and experience projects is essential, alongside strong capability across forecasting, pricing, utilisation, and P&L management.

You’ll lead an existing team of 10 across Australia and New Zealand, with regular travel between studios throughout the year. Together with leading and developing the current team, you’ll also play a key role in growing the capability and scale of the practice as the business continues to expand.

Above all, this role will suit someone entrepreneurial — someone energised by the opportunity to build a team, grow a client base, shape a creative offering, and make a genuine mark within an established and highly respected business.

THEM

Our client is a globally recognised, design-led business with an outstanding reputation for delivering meaningful work. With studios across Australasia and a deeply collaborative culture, they are now investing in a new creative offering focused on brand, experience, and placemaking.

This is an opportunity to build something with genuine backing, ambition, and scale — supported by an established leadership team while having the freedom to shape the vision, team, and future direction of the practice.

Benefits include flexible working, additional annual leave, wellbeing and medical support, bonus opportunities, and long-term growth pathways within the business.
